- a beginning sentence to catch your reader's attention

- paraphrase the question

- thesis (your opinion)

Body:

- point one: topic sentence, details (explanations, examples), conclusion of point one

- point two: topic sentence, details, conclusion of point two

- (possible) point three: topic sentence, details, conclusion of point three

Conclusion:

- state the thesis from another angle

- summary of viewpoint
