the joys of family business

Ahh, the joys of family business. Just like some of you, our own company is a family business--we even have our very own Joy right here. Joy & Jim Chittim started the parent company Flying Circle Bag Company & The Big Jim Halter Company 20 years ago. They began producing a line of bags for the military, & everything just grew from there. FCB made everything from custom team bags for schools across the nation to special inventions like the BeeWarm & Sandana, worn by the military during the Gulf War. What started out in a few modest barns on a Texas family ranch has grown into something that's quite an operation today. Now nearly all of the military carries a Flying Circle bag. They're quite an amazing couple!

About 9 years ago, they got stuck with a daughter-in-law (me, Christi) when their son Jimmy & I came back from Chicago to help out with the family business. He took over the military side, and I started traveling to NYC quarterly with a line of handbags (another story) & working on the kids line. After resting to raise our pretty awesome babyJack, it was time to get busy again. Being absolutely worthless as a homemaker, Flying Circle was forced to give me a desk and a phone. Armed with a little creativity, a hundred million ideas & an awesome group of employees, we started to really take mint™ to the next level. SuperHero Lauren came on board in 2003. Lauren added even more creativity and determination to help develop mint™ into a national brand--and we've been busy as bees ever since. Things here are growing & changing at quite an amazing rate and we're ever so grateful to FCB and all of our loyal customers.

At mint™, it's all family & friends. Lauren and I are the team who will meet you at Market, chat with you on the phone, & come up with all of the products you know and love. Chris & Arthur are the guys who packing your orders in the hot Texas heat without complaining (much). Joy, Big Jim, & Jimmy are the ones who will sometimes come to Market to make sure we're not just there shopping for wholesale diamonds. Little Jack is the one I talk about too much.

Point is, we girls at mint™ appreciate you. None of this would be possible if it weren't for your loyal following for all of these years. We love working with our customers and we love creating new things for you. Thank you for helping us grow! We truly do love your input--keep it coming.
